A High Profile Launch Event

6th November 2014: Chivaree worked with Runwild Media Group and Canary Wharf Group for the launch event of the iconic ice rink in Canada Square.

After discussing their aims we curated the entertainment around the theme of “fire an ice”. Three moments needed highlighting: something dramatic as guests entered the event; a performance mid-way through the evening to encourage guests to skate and draw their attention to the unique feature of the ice rink (a special skate path through the trees); and finally a big moment for the press shot.

Prior to the night, we liaised with the venue managers, production team and client to create costumes that reflected the theme and the branding, hand-picked an exceptional team of performers and choreographed a show specifically designed for the ice.

To greet guests and create an immersive environment, our two living statues guarded the entrances. After guests had enjoyed a welcoming cocktail, our glow hula hoop troupe performed in costumes featuring small LED’s to reflect the surrounding trees adorned in fairy lights.

As a finale, our five fire artists performed a routine featuring multiple disciplines complete with a world record attempt for “the most amount of lit torches attached to a performer” in the centre. Our dramatic spectacle enhanced press interest in the event and brought favourable PR and attention to the launch.

The event was a great success and Chivaree became the ongoing entertainment partners for the winter season.
